#WhatIf you do not give up on your dreams even when they seem impossible…

My dream was to be a life coach. I did everything to transition from my career in the financial sector to become that coach. I studied nights and weekends, all the while having a full-time job and a family to take care of.

When I finally graduated in 2007, I decided to give up the safety of my full-time job and just be a coach. For a while I was living the dream … my dream. I coached clients, got my ICF certification, joined networking groups, learned about the marketing of my business … then, one day … my dream turned into a nightmare. My happy family life was turned on its head and for a while, I just could not function.

My new financial situation pushed me back to my old finance career and the need to focus, almost single-handedly, on raising my teenage daughter made me believe for a while that I would have to give up on my dream.

Instead of giving it up completely, I decided to just take a step back until I could feel strong enough to continue. I went back to dedicating all my spare time and energy … weekends and evenings … to my dream so that I would not completely lose contact with this incredible profession, coaching.

Today my daughter has moved on in her life, she is a university student, and no longer needs me as much as she used to. I have recovered the strength to make my dream come true all over again and I am now gearing up to go back into coaching full time.

#WhatIf you do not give up on your dreams even when they seem impossible, but instead, you create the conditions to carry them with you until you are ready, once more, to make them come true?
